At first when I saw the shows on the TV about people saving all this money I thought now way were they getting so many items for free. The word free means many things to many people, for me saving money is a must when I have three children under the age of 18.
I have been on the lookout to learn many ways to save on my food and paper goods budget. Resources such as blogs, articles, websites, and even facebook I have learned a few things about sales and ways to save money.
First and foremost one must devote some time to reading local ads and having coupons. I personally believe some coupons are a trick to get you to buy items you do not really needs…. Or are they? I always wanted to save money on meat since that is usually the highest item we buy in the store. I was taught after being a gestational diabetic that you need to shop on the outside of most supermarkets as that is where the real food is.
This is where I have some issues with couponing. If a person is told to watch their diet will these savings be worth it to your health? I think it depends on portions more then anything when eating processed foods. Exercise also plays an important role when eating food. If you sit all day and do nothing eating over 200 carbs a day is really not a wise choice.
I found a nice little gem called: The Lazy Couponer. Take a look for yourself and see if this is a tool that can help you save money on food and more.
